¹ 19th April 2011 Fantastic news! Our great friend Nigel Smith will be walking with us for 2 days to help support our cause and keep us entertained with his witty and intelligent banter! Great to hear you will be joining us Nige!

As Phil points out, what a glorious day for a walk! Mark is suffering from back ache but is blaming this on walking in totally inappropriate CAT boots rather than general lack of fitness!
¹ 11th Feb 2011 We complete our first trial hike covering about 11 miles from the Bankes Arms to Tilly Whim Caves and back. We both really enjoyed the day despite it being a bit wet and windy. Phil puts his new waterproof trousers through their paces and they come through the test with flying colours! Mark spends the day questionning the wisdom of wearing hefty CAT boots and wondering whether an investment in proper hiking boots might be a wise idea!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
In April, Phil (middle), Mark (left) and Nigel completed a hike along the Jurassic Coast. Phil walked for 5 days covering 85 strenuous and hilly miles from Seaton, Devon to Poole in Dorset; Mark joined Phil for 4 days walking from Seaton to Worth Matravers, a total of 70 miles and Nigel Smith walked the 30 miles from Weymouth to Worth Matravers.
We undertook this journey to raise monies to purchase 'Walkers’, walking frames for children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, for the Child Development Centre at Poole Hospital.
These Walkers can completely change a child's life by allowing them to gain their mobility which otherwise may be almost exclusively via a wheelchair. The Walkers meet a wide range of therapeutic needs such as encouraging weight bearing and developing muscle strength.
Sincere thanks to all our generous Corporate Sponsors:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never
sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make
sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to
donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Currently, when a need for a Walker is identified a child may be
forced to wait up to 6 months for their application to be processed.
It seems unthinkable that children are being denied the opportunity
to gain mobility and some independence for this time simply
because of an administrative process. We would therefore like to
try and raise sufficient funds in order to purchase a range of different
sized Walkers that can be used temporarily by children whilst their
applications are being considered. This will be a real challenge as
each Walker costs £500+.
